Kitchen of the Week: A Farmhouse Kitchen in Naarden Vesting, Netherlands
Recently, Tokyo-based hardware designer Maha Alavi shared a project in which her robust, solid-bronze Cercle Pulls make an appearance. The project is a 250-square-foot kitchen within a monumental farmhouse in Naarden Vesting, a 17th-century town in the Netherlands just southeast of Amsterdam. Designer Martje Overmeer is adept at creating refined contemporary spaces with bespoke elements, and the kitchen is no exception: “a synergy between modern elements while keeping authentic details,” as she explains. Here’s a closer look at the details:

Above: The original farmhouse tiles are in tact. The walnut table and built-in sofa are custom by Overmeer. The dining chairs are vintage sourced from Morentz Gallery.
