Trend Alert: Poplin Bedding in a Confident Palette
Once, the measure of good bedding was its softness and restraint. Now, a new mood prevails: crisp poplin cotton—classic, unfussy, and thoroughly modern. What began with Merci in Paris and Tekla in Copenhagen has spread across Scandinavia and now to Korea, where smaller brands are embracing poplin’s clean structure and broad swathe of color.
Chalky lilacs, pale ochres, vintage greens, shocking pinks, and butter yellow are newly de rigueur, inviting endless combinations. Together, they bring a dose of modernity to the bed—timeless yet unmistakably of the moment.

Above: Based in Seoul, Korea, Papiyot offers a range of solid and striped poplin bedding and homeware.
Above: Established in 2017, Tekla takes inspiration from art and architecture, collaborating with greats such as John Pawson and the foundations of Donald Judd, Le Corbusier, and Agnes Martin, among others.

Above: Swedish home design brand Hilma specialize in linen, but also offer some solid color duvet options in both muted and bold colors. The Hope 2.0 Duvet Cover in Lucky starts at €119.

Above: Another Danish company, Aiayu, makes a duvet set on offer in 10 shades of cotton—most muted and some in deep blue or unique shades such as the above Cocoa.
Above: We first learned about Swedish brand Midnatt from Johanne Landbo of Femte Til Venstre: A Danish Couple’s Thoughtfully Appointed 1927 Townhouse in Copenhagen. Midnatt happens to offer bright swatches of crisp organic cotton; shown above is shade Aster.
Above: Haus in Denmark has an offering of Crisp Bedding in colors from Shaded Blue (shown) to Crisp Bedding Shaded Blue to deep Purple and Terracotta.
Above: The longstanding standard for colorful bedding, Merci in Paris has their Cotton Percale Duvet Covers in different colors each season (shown here in Pixel Green and Club Pink).
